Ghosh’s College Trust Fund
Bishwanath (Bisu) Ghosh, Bikram’s lifelong best friend, and the son of his guru, Bishnu Charan Ghosh recently passed away. Bisu had continued to operate Ghosh’s Yoga College, in Kolkata, since his father’s Mahasamadhi in 1970. It is the club where both Bikram and Rajashree, as well as many others in their respective times, developed into the Yogis that they have became. It has been a place where many thousands have been helped by the practice of Yoga, since Bishnu Ghosh established the school in 1923. The school is now going to be passed on to, and run by Bisu’s daughter, Muktamala Ghosh. You can visit their website at Ghoshsyoga.com.
With Bisu’s health problems, and now with his passing, Ghosh’s Yoga College has been suffering, financially. It is in trouble now.
Each year Bikram asks that all Bikram schools close on July 9th, to honor the Mahasamadhi of his guru, Bishnu Charan Ghosh. A trust was recently created to help keep the Ghosh’s Yoga College open and running forever. Instead of closing the studio on July 9th, we will remain open with a full schedule of classes and donate the proceeds towards Ghosh's College Trust Fund.
